Koningsdag/Kings Day!

Koningsdag, or King's Day, is a national holiday in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. It is celebrated on 27 April (or 26 April if the 27th falls on a Sunday), marking the birth of King Willem-Alexander. When the Dutch monarch is female, the holiday is known as Koninginnedag, or Queen's Day, and was celebrated on 30 April under Queen Beatrix until 2013. On Koningsdag, people dress up in orange attire and participate in festivities with friends and family or attend one of the many festivals held in Dutch cities.
